Resin bound driveways
Permeable, UV-stable resin bound surfacing — SuDS-compliant by design, so most installations need no planning application.
We design and build resin bound, block paving and gravel driveways across South Buckinghamshire. Materials are chosen to suit period and modern homes. Drainage is engineered, not assumed. Every installation carries a written 10-year guarantee.

Traditional and permeable block paving in muted, natural tones, specified to suit conservation-area streetscapes.
Bound and self-binding gravel for large frontages and carriage driveways — the finish Chilterns design guidance favours.
Re-sanding, sealing, sunken-area reinstatement and drainage remedials for existing driveways.

Much of South Buckinghamshire sits inside the Chilterns National Landscape or a designated conservation area — Beaconsfield Old Town, the village greens of the Chalfonts, the lanes around Penn and Jordans. Several streets also carry Article 4 directions, which remove the usual permitted-development rights and mean changes to a frontage can need planning permission that wouldn't be required elsewhere.
Most driveway companies never mention any of this. For us it's part of the job: we check your street's designations before we design anything, recommend materials that sit naturally against brick, flint and render — bound aggregate finishes, muted block tones, traditional gravel — and steer you away from the bright paviours and patterned concrete the Chilterns design guidance warns against. Our guide to driveways in conservation areas and the Chilterns explains the designations town by town.
Fully permeable, UV-stable, seamless finish. Typical full dig-out installation; overlays on a sound base cost less.
Clay or concrete blocks on an engineered sub-base. Permeable block options for front gardens over 5 m².
Naturally permeable and right at home on large Chilterns frontages. Grids and edging keep it where it belongs.
Indicative installed ranges — every quotation is itemised to your ground, drainage and access. For the full decision table see resin vs block paving vs gravel, and for worked local pricing the 2026 cost guide.
We measure, check ground and drainage, and confirm any conservation-area or Article 4 constraints on your street. Free, and without obligation.
Aggregate blends and block samples brought to your door, chosen against your brickwork and setting — decided in daylight, not from a brochure.
Full dig-out to specified depth, engineered sub-base, soakaways and channels where the frontage needs them. The groundwork is the driveway.
The finished surface is handed over with aftercare guidance and a written 10-year workmanship guarantee.
We install and restore driveways across South Buckinghamshire — Beaconsfield, Gerrards Cross, Chalfont St Peter, Chalfont St Giles, Amersham, Penn, Knotty Green and Seer Green, along with the villages between them. If you're nearby but not listed, ask: if we can reach you comfortably, we'll happily quote.
Usually not — if the surface is permeable. Front-garden surfacing over 5 m² must either be permeable (resin bound, permeable block paving, gravel) or drain to a lawn or border, otherwise planning permission is required. In conservation areas and on streets with Article 4 directions the position can differ, which is why we check your street's designations as part of the free design visit.
Through the surface, by design. Our resin bound and permeable paving systems are laid over a free-draining sub-base so rain soaks away rather than running onto the highway. On larger frontages we size soakaways to your ground conditions — chalk and clay behave very differently in this area — and fit channel drains at thresholds and garage doors.
It depends on the frontage. Bound aggregate and gravel finishes are the quiet, traditional choices the Chilterns design guidance favours; muted clay blocks in traditional patterns also sit well against brick-and-flint. We bring samples to the design visit so you can judge them against your own elevation.
Most domestic driveways take between three days and a week depending on size, dig-out depth and drainage work. We confirm a schedule in the quotation and keep the site tidy, contained and safe throughout.
Workmanship across the whole build-up — the sub-base, drainage and surface we install. It's written into your quotation, not a verbal promise, and sits alongside the manufacturer warranties on the materials themselves.
